A slicer's estimate is useful for planning, but it is not a guarantee. Machine setup, first-layer checks, color changes, failed adhesion and the number of guests can all affect completion.

The dependable approach is to preprint the slow portions and reserve the event for visible, understandable steps. Guests can choose colors, personalize a prepared nameplate, compare infill patterns, inspect a layer preview or assemble safe preprinted components. One short demonstration print can show the process without making every take-home item depend on a single live machine.

If personalized pieces will be completed after the event, state that before booking and agree on pickup or delivery. Do not imply that every child will design and print a complex model during a short party unless a timed rehearsal with the same group size and equipment proves it.

Create a clear safety boundary around every printer

Fused-filament printers contain hot nozzles, heated build surfaces, moving carriages, pinch points and electrical equipment. Put machines where an instructor can control access and where guests cannot reach through the motion path. Do not invite children to remove a fresh print, clear a nozzle, reach for loose filament or lean over a moving gantry.

Ventilation and material choice also belong in the event plan. NIOSH's makerspace guidance recommends evaluating 3D printing emissions and using controls such as ventilation and enclosures where appropriate. The right control depends on the printer, material, room and number of operating machines. A familiar material name does not eliminate the need to review its safety data and the equipment manufacturer's instructions.

Uncured resin and solvent washing add chemical exposure, splash and waste-handling requirements. Inspect every take-home object for the intended age

A printed toy or favor is not automatically suitable for every child. Inspect each object for small detachable pieces, sharp points, brittle sections, rough support scars and mechanisms that can pinch. Consider how the object may be used after it leaves the supervised event—not only whether it printed successfully.

A guest may love a movie, game or sports character, but that does not automatically grant a business the right to reproduce and sell its protected artwork.
